membership information

Membership shall be open to any person or organization who is interested in the objectives of the Society, adheres to the By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation, and promptly pays appropriate dues.

Dues are paid as:

  • Individual Memberships ($10)
  • Family Memberships (two adults at the same address) ($15).
  • A youth (anyone under the age of 18 years) sponsored by a member in good standing shall not be required to pay dues.

The Lone Star Daylily Society is organized as a non-profit corporation whose purpose shall be to promote interest in and to encourage and foster the development of the genus Hemerocallis, and to provide educational opportunities for its members and the public, by all suitable and appropriate means; and to also promote membership and participation in the American Daylily Society and its efforts.

Membership shall be defined as active or inactive.

The By-Laws define active membership as:

Members that:

  1. Pay membership dues to the Lone Star Daylily Society in a timely manner.
  2. Attend six (6) or more monthly meetings of the society. If an event of the society takes the place of a regular business meeting, attendance at the event can count toward active membership.
  3. Participate as a host or hostess for one (1) of the society’s regular monthly meetings.

Special Incentive Program

If a member has achieved Active Membership Status during the year AND has helped in some way with the Spring Sale and the Flower Show/Plant Sale that is held in May, our society will pay the ADS Dues (the National Dues) for that member for the calendar year. This will encourage the members to help with our major activities for the year, both Plant Sales and the Flower Show and Plant Sale in May.

American Daylily Society

We encourage new members to join the American Daylily Society. Although this is not a requirement of joining our club, we strongly recommend it. Your membership in the ADS helps our club with our ADS National status.

Your membership in the American Daylily Society (also known as the American Hemerocallis Society) supports efforts which:

  • Educate gardeners on the care, propagation, and appeal of daylilies
  • Maintain the official registry of daylily cultivars
  • Evaluate, judge, and award daylily cultivars for outstanding plant habit and exceptional distinction.
